CREATE PEOPLE

The Center for Research and Education on Aging and Technology Enhancement (CREATE) represents a consortium of three universities, each with its own research team: University of Miami, Florida State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The University of Miami is the coordinating site with Dr. Sara J. Czaja as Director of the overall Center. This collaborative program includes three projects and a student research program. Each of the research sites is conducting separate projects that focus on complementary aspects of human interaction with technology. The intent is to integrate the expertise of the groups into a cohesive program for enhancing the ability of older adults to use technologies.

STUDENT AND POST DOCTORAL RESEARCHERS

CREATE provides support for graduate students and post doctoral researchers. One mechanism for support is the Pilot Research Program. This support helps to expand the activities of the Center and to ensure that there will be a body of future scientists who have interests in issues related to technology and older adults.

STATISTICAL ADVISORS

The statistical advisors provide support for the science of the Center, technical support for the research projects, and assistance with preparation of publications/reports.

EXTERNAL SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD

To ensure that the Center’s scientific activities have sufficient oversight, the Center has an External Scientific Advisory Board. This Advisory Board helps to ensure that the stated goals of the Center are being achieved, provides advice on scientific issues, and helps with dissemination activities.
Members of the board also provide linkages to the community programs, industries, and the scientific community.
